Peter Merry is relentless. And you should be, too.

The Best Wedding Reception EverPeter Merry is a Purple Cow, in a world of the standard brown variety. Over several years, he has led in shaping the role of DJ Entertainer, transforming it into the highly polished role of Wedding Entertainment Director.

The role of a W.E.D. exceeds the expected role of a DJ by light years. Peter has traveled the country, speaking to groups, large and small, and providing training to those who aspire to the highest levels of service, with income to match.

A couple of years ago, Peter self-published The Best Wedding Reception Ever, a book that takes a fresh and highly detailed view of wedding receptions.

Peter shouted that one of his adjacent goals was to be a guest on the Oprah┬áTV show. With her announced end to the TV show, he may have ┬árun out of time; however, he hasn’t run out of ambition.

His book was well enough received to be picked up by a traditional publishing house, and has been shipped, just in time for the Wedding MBA conference. It has been updated and is ready for your interest…. and perhaps, still Oprah.

Peter Merry will be making a couple of presentations at Wedding MBA, and will have a booth at the trade show. Watching him speak is appointment viewing. You should meet him and buy a book. Better yet, buy a case. The books make great premium gifts for fellow wedding professionals and brides. And yes… there are case discounts. Buy all you want… he can always print more.

Peter Merry is relentless. And you should be, too.

Excellence, not perfection

Colin Cowie extraordinary weddingsSeveral years ago I attended a NACE Educational Conference in Charleston that featured Colin Cowie as the keynote speaker.

He shared many examples of his stunning work, which sparkled from creativity and detail.

Recently, he was on Oprah to promote his new book, ‘Extraordinary Weddings.’ He reiterated an important bit of philosophy he had shared at NACE. Cowie doesn’t believe in using the word, ‘Perfect.’ To paraphrase him,

“An entire event is never perfect. At the end of the day, if you’ve surrounded yourself with competent, qualified professionals, they will solve whatever problems or challenges come up, and will insulate the client from them.”

His outlook is music to my ears. Even at Cowie’s level, he maintains a completely realistic outlook on his message to the client.
